Betclic is a prominent French online gambling company established in 2005 by the duo Eric Moncada and Nicolas Béraud. The enterprise specializes in offering a wide array of services, including sports betting, online casino, and online poker. Standing tall among its competitors, the business is strategically divided into two primary divisions which are dedicated to France and International markets respectively. The French operations are efficiently anchored in Bordeaux, while their International business extends its reach from the vibrant locale of Malta.

With its inception rooting back in a modest setup in London, Betclic was born out of a vision held by Eric Moncada and Nicolas Béraud in 2005, initially supported by a mere single employee and a significant investment of 3 million euros. Fast forward to 2008, Mangas Gaming acquired a commanding 75% stake in Betclic for 50 million euros, further solidified by SBM's acquisition of a 50% stake a year later in 2009. Fast forward to 2010, Betclic emerged as a market leader in France, commanding an impressive 35–40% market share, a stronghold that continued to grow, boasting 36% market share by 2013.

During the widely followed sporting event, Euro 2012, Betclic saw exhilarating engagement with 2 million bets being placed, culminating in a staggering profit of 12 million euros over the competition period. On 31 May 2016, marking a significant milestone, Betclic merged with the online poker platform Everest Poker, a unification that promised to enhance their service offerings. By October 2016, the company made a pivotal decision to relocate its offices from the bustling cities of London and Paris to Bordeaux, simultaneously ramping up its operational capabilities. In September 2018, the excitement of expansion continued as Betclic secured a license to thrive in the Polish market, demonstrating their relentless pursuit of growth.

However, in 2019, navigating through challenges, the Betclic Group made the decision to withdraw from the competitive UK online gambling market citing subpar performance amidst stiff competition. The company’s journey also reflects its proactive approach toward partnerships and sponsorships across various sports. They ventured into sports sponsorship starting with Olympique Lyonnais in 2009 and later expanded to include significant teams such as Olympique de Marseille and Juventus. Embracing the spirit of sportsmanship, in 2018, Betclic formed ties with the rugby club Union Bordeaux Bègles, illustrating their dedication to making a mark in sporting sponsorships.
